The file is processed by rolling, forging, annealing, grinding, cutting and quenching. The surface has fine teeth and strips, which can file many pairs of materials. There are many kinds of files, and they are widely used, such as using files to remove defects, burr, fillet, ream, file groove, modify surface, etc. The purpose of each file is introduced below.

1. According to the usage, the file can be divided into: fitter file, mainly used for file processing; wood file, used for filing wood, leather and other soft materials; assorted file, used for filing fine small metal parts; rotary file, used for finishing metal or non-metal workpiece; diamond file, with no file grain on the surface, is electroplated with a layer of diamond powder on its surface, which can be used for filing Hardened metal.

2. According to the profile shape, it can be divided into flat file, square file, round file, semicircular file, triangular file, diamond file and knife file. Flat file is used to file plane or arc surface; square file is used to file square hole or narrow plane; triangle file is used to file inner angle, triangle hole and plane; semicircular file is used to file concave arc surface; round file is used to file round hole or concave arc surface with small radius and elliptic surface.

3. According to the form of file, it can be divided into single file and double file. Single grain file is suitable for filing metal with soft material; double grain file is suitable for filing steel and nonferrous metal.

4. According to the number of main file lines within 10 mm length, the file can be divided into I-V sizes. No. I is coarse tooth file, No. II is medium tooth file, No. III is fine tooth file, No. IV and No. V are oil smooth file. Rough file is suitable for filing soft materials and workpieces with large allowance or low requirements, while fine file is suitable for workpieces with small allowance and high accuracy requirements.

Tips:

The tooth lines of the new file are sharp and suitable for filing soft metal. It is better to file hard metal after a period of time. When storing, do not touch water, oil or other stolen goods, so as not to affect the use of the file.
